Kayak at Batiquitos Lagoon
Boats are not normally allowed on the lagoon, in order to protect the environment.
However, in 2006 the Department of Fish and Game opened the lagoon on one day for a limited number of visitors to kayak in the lagoon and help clean out trash that had accumulated in the water over time.
This exciting opportunity was repeated in 2007 and was very popular, with all available places selling out before the event.
The Kayak Cleanup Event took place in 2008, in 2009, and in 2010.
The 2011 event will be held on September 24th and 25th. More information to come.
