Become a BLF Volunteer!
The BLF is staffed entirely by volunteers and we are always pleased to welcome new faces!
We run an annual volunteer training program starting every February and lasting for eight weeks. New volunteers learn all about the lagoon and about volunteering opportunities. Click here, for more information on the course.
To find out more about volunteering, and volunteer training, email us at volunteer@batiquitosfoundation.org.
There are a lot of ways that you can get more involved, to give you some ideas, here are a few of the current opportunities:
Docent
Our busy walks program is run by our dedicated team of docents. Each docent can choose their own area of interest or expertise to focus on in a walk, although all docents receive full training in all aspects of the lagoon environment and in leading groups.
Nature Center Host
Our Nature Center is a resource for visitors to the lagoon, and hosts can advise on the nature center displays as well as giving information on the trail and what to look for.
Trail Maintenance
We have regular trail maintenance sessions, the first Saturday of every month. For more information, see the Trail Maintenance page.
If you have a particular talent or interest that is not mentioned here, please contact us!
